EU Initiatives

April 20, 2023, CARA Europe welcomes the EU Initiative to prolong the existing Motor vehicle Block Exemption Regulation in general and supports in particular the clarification that authorised and independent repairers should have access to vehicle generated data on an equal footing.  As representative of the professional used car remarketing community we see it as essential that the existing principles for the provision of technical information, tools and training necessary for the repair and maintenance services have been extended to explicitly cover vehicle-generated data to ensure competitive and value-adding solutions can be provided by our members for the benefit or used car buyers.
